Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all use of the GhostAtlas IP Service. It exists to keep our network, our upstream partners' infrastructure, and our Clients in good standing. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund, and may be reported to relevant authorities where required by law.
1. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service, or permit it to be used, for:
- Unauthorized access or intrusion — hacking, port scanning without authorization, credential stuffing, brute-force attacks, or exploiting vulnerabilities in systems you do not own or have explicit permission to test.
- Fraud — ad fraud, click fraud, payment fraud, creation of fake accounts at scale to circumvent platform limits, or any activity intended to deceive a third party for financial gain.
- Malware and abuse infrastructure — distributing malware, operating botnets, sending spam or unsolicited bulk communications, or using the Service as part of a DDoS attack.
- Illegal content or activity — accessing, distributing, or facilitating access to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any other content or activity illegal under Kenyan law or the law of the jurisdiction in which the traffic originates or terminates.
- Intellectual property infringement — using the Service to circumvent access controls for the purpose of piracy or unauthorized redistribution of copyrighted material at scale.
- Circumventing platform enforcement in bad faith — while proxies are commonly and legitimately used for tasks like web scraping, ad verification, market research, and QA testing, using the Service specifically to evade a platform's ban or rate-limit enforcement in connection with any of the prohibited activities above is not permitted.
- Reselling without authorization — reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing proxy access obtained through the Service to third parties without our prior written consent.
- Excessive abuse of shared infrastructure — activity that degrades network performance for other Clients, including but not limited to abnormal connection volume inconsistent with your plan's intended use.
2. Legitimate Uses (Examples)
To be clear about what is welcome on our network, common legitimate use cases include:
- Web scraping and data collection conducted in a manner consistent with the target site's applicable legal obligations
- Ad verification and brand protection monitoring
- Market research and price comparison
- SEO and search engine rank tracking
- QA and geolocation testing of your own applications
- Social media management tools operating within platform terms
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether a use case is permitted, contact us at support@ghostatlasip.com before proceeding.
3. Upstream Provider Compliance
Our proxy infrastructure is provisioned through third-party upstream network partners. You agree to comply with the acceptable use terms of these upstream providers in addition to this AUP. Conduct that causes an upstream provider to flag, restrict, or terminate access to their network on our behalf may result in immediate suspension of your account, regardless of intent.
4. Monitoring and Enforcement
We do not proactively monitor Client traffic content. However, we reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP, including in response to abuse reports from third parties or upstream partners, and to take action including traffic analysis at the network level, account suspension, or termination.
We may cooperate with law enforcement requests where legally required.
5. Reporting Abuse
If you believe traffic originating from our network has been used to abuse your service, contact support@ghostatlasip.com with relevant logs (timestamps, source IPs, and a description of the activity). We investigate all credible abuse reports.
6. Consequences of Violation
Depending on severity, violations may result in:
- A warning and request to cease the activity
- Immediate suspension pending investigation
- Permanent termination without refund
- Reporting to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities where legally required
We reserve sole discretion in determining the severity of a violation and the appropriate response.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP as our Service, upstream partnerships, or legal obligations evolve. Material changes will be communicated via email or dashboard notice.
